the fact that you have to make sure the air is out could potentially make it all explode because you can't trap air. a pro is that it's really easy and effective
i always make my slabs to thick or thin and then they turn out to be all different sizes. a benefit is that it looks really cool when its done - Olivia Boggess
it is easyier to mold and form it in to soemthing when it is still wet. but when its dry, it is DRY. you got to be puttin water all up on it and re wetting it
you have to wait for the perfect time to attach them. If you wait to long they are too dry to work with. If you don't wait long enough they are too flimsy and will cave in. Benefit would be they have good sharp surfaces
When you assemble the pieces, if you're not diligent enough the pieces will fall over and potentially wreck your slab. But slabs can be curved and moved if they're moist enough to mold.

It always ends up being dry. I like it because it's easy to mold.

ReplyDeleteGravity works against you, so you always have to be careful about that. It is easier to work with.
ReplyDeleteYou have to make sure all the slabs are the same size and same thickness. You also have to make sure you clay doesn't have any air in it

It is easier to form when it is wet, but once it gets dry, there are cracks and you need to put water.
ReplyDeletei dont like slipping and scoring

the clay slabs tend to deform when they are still wet so you have to keep the pieces straight
