A lot of the paintings/drawings had realistic shading and I think this is what keep the pictures looking like a person instead of random lines and colors. Shading is very powerful and I love how they used it here!
Even though all of the works were flat, it had life in it based only on his use of lines, color and shading. It's amazing how you can do so much in a simple 2D format.
i love how the 2d drawings looked so realistic like they were 3d.. i loved the colors used, i think the color contrast and shading really helped with making it look more realistic.
