Art Two - Collage?

What did you think of the collage process?  How is it similar to painting and colored pencils?  How is it different?

  1. you have to be more creative with your materials in collages. the colors aren't just set before you like in painting or colored pencil, you have to find the colors and make the patterns work together to create your picture.

  2. i agree. the colors can almost be deceiving. for example: if i see a skin tone on a picture in a magazine, it can look very similar to the one in my picture, yet it tricks you because the way the lighting or the surroundings on that magazine were set, makes it look different, while, up close, it is a completely different color.

  3. it is similar to painting and colored pencils because you are applying layers of color together to make a picture but different because you have to think more about shapes of the paper, textures of the colors, and they are easier to cover up

  4. It is similar because you layer on different colors until you get the right one, but its different because you can be a lot more creative with the way you fill thing things in when using paper. You can use strawberries to cover your shirt or mouthwash as a part of an ocean.

  5. It's just a time consuming as the colored pencil but not quite as meticulous. There is a bit more freedom in the collage. The collage and the painting are similar with the freedom but different in that the painting takes much less time.
