Ceramics - Blog 2 - wheel throwing

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9-hAJ8IrmU

Watch the above video on wheel throwing.  It will take lots of practice, but I'm sure you can do it!  The only difference in the video and what Mrs. Causey taught us - cut the bowl off of the bat but do not remove it until the next day when it's time to trim.  Remember, everyone will need to produce something on the wheel.  You will have more than one chance and you can come work whenever you have a free hour.

  2. That was really cool. She makes it look extremely simple. Wish mine would turn out like that

  5. It looks so much easier than it actually is. I had a hard time making sure it was centered. I didn't realize how important that is until i tried to shape my bowl and it came off the bat.

  6. She makes it look so easy, but I realized the past couple of days that it takes a whole lot of practice. Plus it's really messy.

  9. It looks so easy but i think it is going to be very frustrating if the clay does not move or shape like i want it to.
