Art One - Victor Vasarely

Victor Vasarely, was a Hungarian–French artist, who is widely accepted as a "grandfather" and leader of the op art movement. His work entitled Zebra, created in the 1930s, is considered by some to be one of the earliest examples of op art.

What do you think?  Which one is your favorite?

"Zebra" 1938 - This one is not radially symmetrical but is by Vasarely.

    I really like the first one because the 2 zebras really blend in creating and optical illusion.

    I like the first one because it looks like multiple different zebras when it is only 2 different zebras, which creates the optical illusion. - kennedi jones

    I like the first because the zebras appear to be intertwined with each other with the purpose of tricking the eye.

    I like the first one because the way the zebras are connected it makes it look like an illusion.

    I really like how the zebra artwork, the way Vasarley is able to use such simple colors and come with out with the outcome that started the op art movement. The zebra picture is my favorite. The way the zebras come together and are connected make it a great illusion.
