See the drawings below.  What do you notice about the lines and shading?

  1. They all use lines to show the shadows. But each picture uses different lines to show which way the light is hitting the objects. With the bowls in the picture the artist used curved lines to make the objects appear more rounded.

  3. I thought the way they were able to make some of the objects shine. the lighting really helped to see the shape of the object.

  6. I think the dark thing is like the shadow and the lines are really complicated. I do not like the lines, but it was good to change the lines for every different things. Because sometime lines are important, but shadow is less.

  10. The shading and effects of a 'light' source are really cool. The fact that this is all pencil is also really cool. it looks like you could just pick up the fruit out of the bowl!

  13. If they used the same methods we used, they did very well because I can't see the outlines or anything. I like the fact that the shadow lines in the second picture are all going the same way; that's cool and looks realistic.

  18. The shading in the drawing creates depth, which makes the objects look like they are actually sitting on the paper. I think the curves on the lines help show position and the shape of the objects. The shading is so amazing, it really looks like the light is hitting the objects. These are so realistic, I feel like I could reach out and touch them.

  23. The first and last don't look realistic to me because they have heavy shading on the borders of the lines, and makes them look exaggerated. The middle two do look realistic though

  26. the outlines look very soft, but the shading is very contrasted and dark, which makes it easy to tell where the edges of the objects are, even with a soft outline
