The artist doesn't make the whole of every print completely covered nor bare, but instead has different parts bare and filled. I think that the second, third, and fifth prints were more successful because they are more detailed and have many different directions within them.
I notice that this process was probably very tedious for the artist. I can also see that the pieces with more detail seem to look better than the simpler ones.
In every photo, I noticed the process of the artist was to think of something that had a lot of detail, i.e. a face or a boat and the lake, and then used a certain focal point to elaborate on the whole piece. Each artist used a different filter to apply the focus on a certain feature. For instance, the human piece used eyes and nose as a focal point, making them clear, then made the rest of the face a bunch of lines. The most successful piece was probably the second one because the building was the focus, making the background blurry. The least successful one would probably be the fourth one (the owl) because there are no focal points.
Printmaking seems like and looks like it would take the artist a lot of time and effort to make their printmaking look reasonable. Most of the print makings above with more detail and a black and white mixture looks better than the others. -Harrison
I saw that it takes some skill to print-block successfully. The 4th picture doesn't loo as good a the others to me so there was probably less effort put into it.
i like the second to last one because its very detailed

I like the third one because of the methodical process and extreme detail on the waves and rocks.

ReplyDeleteI think that the 4th one had less detail than the rest of them. all of the others seemed to show hard work.

Every picture seems to be made up of different sized blocks. I'm interested in the way the pictures are composed.

I like the second one because of the detail. This picture seemed to take more time. The third and fifth one are also nice.

I notice and think is really cool that the picture is just a matter of black and white. I think this is a really cool type of art.

I notice that it takes a lot of focus to get the prints as detailed as they are. I think that the 4th one is the least detailed and the most detailed.
ReplyDeleteThe second and third pictures are more successful because they are more detailed than the rest.

ReplyDeleteThe artist knows when to shade and when to make it dark. The ones that put less detail are the less successful ones.
ReplyDeletethe third is because it has the best contrast- Will Watson
