How can culture and function impact the art made by the people?

  1. Culture can impact the pottery by what the images are of and how it is interpreted. Function of art could impact what type of material is used and how long it lasts.

  2. The pictures or symbols in or on art can be an influence by the culture, and the function could be that the art was made to inspire a people or to honor someone.

  4. Culture can impact the art made by the people because in some cases the slaves would make it, some cases the women would make it, and in others the men would make it. The different people making it would influence how they made it and what they would make it for. Slaves could use it for useful purposes while men could make it for decoration.

  5. I think culture can impact the art because it was made by people in different lifestyles. Therefore, the story that a slave and a male put on pottery would probably have different outlooks on life.

  7. i think that culture impactacts art because each cutlure is different, and each person in that specific culture is different. if you beleive something different from another person then the art that you do will be different. -Brooke Battson

  8. By looking at ancient Greek art work we can learn things about the people by what they found important enough to put into their art work. Their culture influences their art work because everyone experiences different thing and would want to paint different scenes on their work.-Chris Adams

  10. I thought it was interesting how in sparta women were encouraged to do more and become stronger. This is the opposite of almost every other culture of that time period. Savannah Phillips

  13. I think their art reflected the daily life of the different people such as slaves and women. And the art can be made by the slaves and women so the art would be created from different perspectives.
