Ceramics - Nativity

We are running a little ahead of schedule :).  So we will have time to add a fun, quick project.  We will make a small nativity next.  Which ones of these are your favorites?

Art One - Vincent van Gogh

Below are works by Vincent van Gogh.  He lived 1853-1890.  He was only 37 when he died from a self inflicted gun shot wound.  He grew up in Holland but moved to France as an adult.  He only sold one painting in his lifetime but is one of the world's best known painters.  (This is not always the case.  Monet, Picasso and Matisse were all famous in their lifetimes.)

Ceramics - Wheel Thrown piece #2

It is now Quarter 2 and each student is required to create a second wheel thrown piece.  These works will need to be made, fired and glazed before the end of the quarter.  The grade will be based on thinness, consistency of form, foot trimming and size.  Completion is not enough.

You might want to go back and watch the instructional videos to refresh your memory.

Which is your favorite?  What makes it successful?

Ceramics - Wheel thrown piece

You have until Friday to complete your wheel thrown piece.  It must be thrown by Thursday and trimmed by Friday.  You will also be required to complete a second wheel thrown piece for Quarter 2.  While the first piece will be graded on completion, the 2nd piece will be graded on merit (size, thinness, consistency of form, clean foot).
