Also by Giambologna.
I think that these sculptures are very interesting because of the movement they have. These sculptures are all very realistic looking. My favorite is the first one, because I like how the dress has so much movement throughout it.
ReplyDeleteI really like these pieces. I like how you can see the movement of the robe in the first sculpture even though its made out of stone. It is amazing how put together these pieces are.

these sculptures are really able to convey a depth of emotion through movement. the detail is incredibly lifelike.
ReplyDeleteThese are insane. I don't have the patience for this type of art. It's amazing how vivid and life-like art could be centuries ago. Granted these look a bit younger than that.

Movement really adds a whole different way to look at and interpret art. It also makes art pieces, especially sculptures more interesting and captivating as well. There is easier discussion to be made about art pieces that have movement like these sculptures.
ReplyDeletei thing the movement makes this structures awesome i wish i was that good
ReplyDeleteIt's so incredible how the artist creates so much movement out of a piece of rock. The movement also creates so much emotion.
ReplyDeleteI know it's kind of weird, but i think it's amazing how the sculptor carved together the motion of the curtain being laid over the ladies chest and how it lays on her like it would an actual person. -Abbie Burns
ReplyDeletei really like how much detail and motion is captured in a piece of rock
