I think it's neat to see the process of how the clay is first made and then to see the clay transform into an exquisite pot. It's cool how when the guy paints the pot the paint looks almost clear, but after it's fired it turns black.

It is cool to see how they made the clay in the pool. It was also interesting to see how they formed the two pieces together to make one vase. Also, the different techniques they used to make the designs.

It was really cool and good to know how the clay we are using were made, like where the clay they got from and how they proceed the clay in to the one that we can use for making a pot, also is really neat to say how the clay transformed in to a fantastic pot.

i think it is really cool how they would throw multiple pieces on the wheel and have to assemble them all together to make the vase.

i think that the Greek pots are incredible and i hope that mine looks as good as the ones in the video.
ReplyDeleteThese vases are incredible, but it is extremely saddening that I will never in my lifetime be able to make a vase as good as the one in the video. For me it is not about the end product but rather the process. Bonding with the clay and getting to know it is what makes the vase more personable which is why i believe that we should be graded on effort rather than precision.
ReplyDeleteThe Greek pots are a true work of art. They have such form and i love how symmetrical the pots are. Mine is not exactly turning out like this but hey its okay
ReplyDeleteI always wondered how a wheel thrown vase with a small base was made. But that makes sense how they would make both separately and then combine them afterwards.

i liked th part where they were wedging the clay and getting it ready. it looked like it could be a lot of fun and it looked like the guy was dancing on the clay.

the original pot were made of terracotta or baked clay. the pebbles and impurities had to be removed by hand. this shows just how advanced we have become for even the most basic things
ReplyDeleteI found it interesting that the potter made the foot separate from the bowl of the vase. He was also very skilled on the wheel and made the whole process look so easy.

this video was kind of annoying like it was really cool and really interesting and impressive but it i cant do anything close to that so it bothered me like they all make it look so easy

I didn't know they were made of terracotta. That cool to think the some roofs of houses are clay.

I thought this video was really cool because it shows how lucky we are to not have to make our own clay with our feet. It also shows how intricate older potters had to be when making a bowl or pot. I thought the video was really cool.
