I thought Evening Twilight at Aculpolco was beautiful. The way Rivera painted the sky green and red was interesting and showed contrast. Elizabeth Smith 5th Period
My favorite painting was Frida Kahlo's "Just A Few Nips," because it was really bloody and she spread the violence out onto the frame. It was very effective and was kind of surprising, because a frame tends to be a neutral agent to separate the painting from its surroundings, but this frame just goes to emphasize the savageness.
My favorite painting was the Calla Lily Vendor by Diego Rivera, the details in the weaving of the basket the lilys were in, the detail of the girls hair, and the color and beauty of the lilluies looked like you could reach out and touch them with your hand! the use of sand in his painting of the watermelons was also very exciting! new fan of his work! -Alex Davis
My favorite was called the flower festival. It was the really big painting with the three little girls on their knees and the flower lillys at the top. I thought the colors were really bright and pretty and it was a happy painting
My favorite painting was "the love embrace of the universe" because i liked all the colors she uses and the three women portrayed in the paintings showing love. I also liked how she used the contrast of light and dark in the background. -Allie Ballard
My favorite painting was "sunset 5" by diego rivera. I love sunsets on the beach and the sunset he painted was beautiful and i loved the colors he used. Gracie Kate
One of the paintings that stuck out to me the most was the painting without hope where frida is on a bed and evrything is coming out of her mouth like she has just given up on life. -Annie Kate Barnes
I looked up art from the High Museum sense i wasn't there and found the "Self-Portrait with Monkey" by Kahlo to be interesting. I wonder if it has deep meaning or if she just liked monkeys. Megan Ingram
